The DEPARTURE Mixtape Series is a year-long series of creative ventures. 12 monthly installments of music podcasts, art prints, and video. The idea behind the DEPARTURE series is to depart from the norm - to get away from what we know, and explore new ideas in music, art, and lifestyles. The music mixes are hand picked and eclectic, and the art and photography that make up the visuals is all original work. "Music and art is a journey, where you let it take you is up to you."
DEPARTURE II is a 33 minute mix of synthy R&B, electronic remixes, and groovy nu-disco sounds. Expect to hear artists like Kaytranada, AlunaGeorge, Erykah Badu and Missy Elliott.

Straight Outta' Compton new movie trailer

There’s a new trailer for the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton. The trailer premiered on MTV and it’s just as thrilling as the first trailer. Jason Mitchell plays Eazy-E, O’Shea Jackson Jr. stars as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre is played by Corey Hawkins, MC Ren is played by Aldis Hodge and DJ Yella is played by Neil Brown Jr. The film will hit theaters on Aug. 14. Straight Outta Compton might be one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The scary thing is that the biopic was almost never was created.

Rane TTM57mkII introduced at NAMM 2015

Wooo! Seeing the new Rane 57 is like when Phoebe Cates comes out of the pool in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. All the perks of the classic 57 (built-in Serato, clean layout), with the bonuses of the 62 (trigger pads, dual usb ports), but without all the anoying light up buttons. It looks more like a mixer and less like a Simon Says toy. It's friggin' beautiful.
